A flawless skin is something every girl out there desire for, isn't it? Even you wish to have beautiful crystal clear skin just like your favorite Actress. But, you should also know that more than smooth and glowy, your skin should be healthy inside out.

~ There are certain skincare habits which every women should follow. If you also want flawless skin, hardwork is something which will help you achieve it.

~ However, I do realize that there are definitely some healthy skin care habits that I have been doing consistently that have helped with my complexion. And, I started taking better care of my skin back when I was in school. And these habits are really starting to pay off now.

~ Most importantly, I feel that if you want to have healthy looking skin, the best thing that we can do for it is, not to buy expensive products or lotions, but to take really good care of it from the inside out.

Okay, so today let's discuss some healthy skin care habits which every individual must follow. As, who would want to live with a dull pigmented skin, let's make it healthy together.

✓ The very first thing which I bet most of you are aware of is, never use soaps to wash your face skin. You remember, how our mothers used to wash our face with soaps.

~ Well, they were baby soaps. But, as we grew up, we continued that same routine, which is just soo wrong. Your skin attain that maturity age by age and in order to keep it healthy you need to stop using those harsh chemical soaps on your skin.

~ Rather, switch it up with a mild face wash, which suits your skin. Your skin is really really sensitive, especially your under eye area. Using harsh soaps will not only make it extra sensitive, but also damages the under eye skin and that way your healthy skin care routine wouldn't work.

• Some mild and affordable cleansers are listed below, click on the link and you can buy from there directly ( Cause in this corona time, who would want to go out and risk their life, right? )

1. Himalaya cucumber and aloe vera face wash. ( For normal to sensitive skin, I personally use it, it's amazing ).

2. Clean and clear ( for oily skin ).

3. Khadi naturals ( best in the market ).

4. Cetaphil ( for acne prone and sensitive skin, tested by dermatologist and experts ).

✓ And here comes the most crucial skin care habit, which is, how often do you wash your face. Okay, there will be some women who would wash it every hour, there will be some who wouldn't mind washing it for 2-3 days, and some would just wash it just once. All these things won't let you achieve healthy skin care habit.

~ For the ones who don't wash your face for one to two days, I have something to tell you, just that, Don't get upset when you reach your 30's. Because you'd be ashamed of your skin for not taking care of it properly in early 20's. Adapt a good  and healthy skin care habit for better results.

~ For the ones who are washing their face every damn hour, oh girl, please stop! You are stripping away all the natural oils from your skin. Why would you do that? Stop washing your face every now and then, adapt a good skin care habit for glowing skin.

~ For those who wash it just once, tell me something, are you okay with all the oils your skin is loaded with? No? Then follow this skin care habit and your skin will thank you later.

~ Correct way to do it? Just wash your face twice per day, one ~ right after waking up, and moisturize it well, second ~ before going to bed, again moisturizing it well. If you see extra oil on your skin surface, wash it in between if you feel like, but, not more than that. And that way you've won the second step of healthy skin care habit.

• Some good and affordable moisturizers are listed below according to your skin type.

1. Lacto calamine oil control.

2. Lakme peach extract.

3. Bio care moisturizer ( My favorite, the one I've been using since a year ) ( can't find link of this product, ask near your local drug store. )

✓ Second and really important thing which is get to know your skin properly. Examine your skin, notice how aften do your skin experience break out, how usually your skin gets dry or oily. Knowing your skin perfectly is an important step for a healthy skin.

~ Do a patch test every time you wish to apply something. Only use products which are suitable according to your skin.

~ Never use chemical products much, as it'll damage your skin not only from outside but from within, so stick to the healthy skin care habits and your skin will thank you later.

• Some affordable facemasks you can use, links are given below.

1. Charcoal Face Mask.

2. Mama Earth Face Mask.

✓ Another point which everyone needs to know, that is, never ever pop a pimple. Yes, you heard it right. I've seen people touching their face again n again, popping a pimple is just too worse, how can someone even do that? It's not at all a healthy skincare habit.

~ You see many people out there having scars on their face, it doesn't look good, right? But they are the ones who are just too eager to pop their pimple as if they'll get a candy from within ( Lol ).

~ Apart from jokes, it's just not at all right. If you don't want your skin to have that dark pigmentation full of dullness, then just stop doing that and that way you have another healthy skincare habit.

✓ Well, how many of you loves to smoke or drink? It's fine, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Just know that it's not at all good for your skin as you think it is. It's absolutely not. Yes, if you want to look much elder to your age, then go on adapt this habit, but if you want to look young with much clear skin, then this healthy skin care habit is for you.

healthy skin care habit is for you.

~ The amout of sugar alcohol contains, the amount to polluted air you release while consuming cigarettes is not only deadly for you, but also for people around you. So, QUIT SMOKING AS WELL AS DRINKING, only if you want a healthy glowing skin ( other factors are included too, which you all must be knowing ).

✓ How often do you apply sunscreen? Or do you even know what role sunscreens play? Do you step out in the sun which literally burns your face and makes you look double than your age.

~ It is very important to wear a sunblock and protect our skin. Not just if you have a fair complexion like me, but for everyone. I think most of us know the importance of sunscreen and the fact that sun damage can age our skin, and even cause serious health problems if, we're not protecting our skin well. But I also think that a lot of people don't really take it that seriously.

~ And probably, that's because it takes a long time, it takes years and years, for sun damage to show on our skin. And even for me, I only started doing it, regularly applying sunscreen, when puberty hit me. Before that, I was still trying to make my skin look more reddish. Especially in the summer.

~And if I wear sunscreen, that's just not something that's going to happen. Actually it's not really going to happen if I don't wear sunscreen either. Because it's just not something that my skin does, it becomes more dull and not healthy looking.

~ And I also try to stay out of the sun when it is really strong, so I will stay in the shade as much as possible. That's such a crucial skin care habit.

~ What are sunscreens for? Of course, for you to apply 20 minutes before you step out in that not-so-beneficial sun. For Indian skin 15 to 30 spf is fine, but for the people who live where summers literally snatch all your fair skin and gift you a red sun burn in return, for you all, spf 50 is far enough.

• Some affordable sunscreens are mentioned below.

✓ Stat hydrated. Yes, you all must be knowing what wonders H2O have been doing since the time you weren't even born. Literally, according to me, water is the only and most powerful solution for everything related to skin and health.

~ Our skin is our biggest organ, and it gets affected by the things we put into our body and on to our skin. So keeping our skin hydrated, for a very large part comes from the inside out. When it comes to hydration, there are many people who are sharing different quick fixes or wonder solutions to help with our complexion. Maybe, certain teas, or detoxing drinks, or juices or vitamin supplements for healthy skin.

~ But, I'm sorry, I personally do not believe in any of these magical solutions. I think it comes down to what we are doing over all and how much liquids we are drinking in a day for healthy skin.

~ Many of you probably won't believe this, but I've searched and researched a lot of things related to it. And during my research I came to know that, we can drink fluids in all kinds of different ways. Water, tea, fruit juice, soups. Even the fruit we eat. They all add up. But of course, it is healthier to stay away from sugary drinks for healthy glowing clear skin, right?

~ I had to teach myself basically to drink enough. Because I definitely wasn't. And, once I started doing that, I did notice a huge impact on my skin. It is much less dry now and much better hydrated and shinny. And I basically drink water as much as I can, every day now.

~ And I noticed all kinds of other benefits also that didn't have anything to do with my skin. Not going much deep inside, but let's just say that it has been a game changer for me.

~ Drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water each day literally does miracle to your skin. Cause your body flushes out all the toxins  from your body, making it clean and hydrated from within.

~ You can also keep a water bottle with you, so that you can sip out anytime you want to.

> Pro tip -- Try drinking water with a straw ( metal straw would be amazing ) that way, you consume lil extra than drinking directly. Yes, try it. Cause this lil extra makes a huge difference.

• Metallic Straw.

✓ As I said in my previous blog, you are what you eat. And that's just soo true. Your face shows everything, believe it or not it's true. The reason behind all the acne and dark pigmented face is the fast food you ate long back. Sooner or later it'll all come out in the form of skin issues.

~ A healthy skin care habit also includes eating healthy, keeping your skin healthy and fresh, keeping your stomach, your internal body clean. And whatever is inside good or bad, it'll all come to your face and then people keep blaming themselves for not having perfect skin.

~ Now when it comes to a healthy diet there's really no one-size-fits-all solution. I personally am vegan, and you can eat a healthy diet in so many different ways. So, I try to eat a very normal diet, lots of fruits and veggies. Have a lil break, do a cheat meal once but only if it suit your skin or health. And it's a start for a healthy skin care habit.

~ I also try to eat lots of fiber. Lots of healthy fats and plant-based protein sources. I also came to know about the importance of omega-3 fatty acids for our skin, recently. Because they help to prevent inflammation and premature aging. And since I'm vegan, I make sure to get them through things like sprouts, dry fruits, flax seeds and walnuts making it a healthy skincare habit.

~ My diet certainly is not perfect I know, cause I'm a foodie too and I eat junk food every now and then, including Pizza or chips, all these things. And I always notice it on my skin when I have been eating more processed foods than usual. Or really fatty, oily foods. Or foods with a lot of added sugar in them ( Normally I don't eat sugar ; no chocolates, no cakes, no cookies, I'm not a sweet tooth person, so never have been in love with sweets ).

~ So, they are not part of my everyday diet anymore. Now that I've stepped in my early 20's, it's a high time for us to take good care of our skin. And, I also think that one of the reasons is that ever since I was a teenager, I significantly reduced the amount of added sugar in my diet. Back when I was in school I used to eat chocolates but not sweets, but as I'm growing up I've even stopped eating chocolates or other sugary items, cause, I just hate sugar! That's my favorite healthy skin care habit.

✓ Another thing which most of us don't follow is, our sleeping pattern.  When I don't sleep enough, it immediately shows on my skin. And I feel like my complexion gets a little bit more dull. And I just look tired. So if I want my skin to have that healthy glow, the number one thing, for me anyway is sleep.

~ When we sleep, our skin can start to repair itself from the damages and the sun exposure of the day. It also rebuilds the collagen in our skin, which is very important. And it can also help to lower the stress hormones in our blood levels that can also be harmful for the skin, adapt this healthy skin care habit and your skin will thank you in return.

~ So, it is just very important. I started making sleep more of a priority in my life. Not so much for my skin necessarily, but more for just my overall physical and mental health. I agree, I sleep late many a times but this lockdown made us all do so!

~ I was just the type of person who needed a lot of sleep. And if I don't make sure to get it, I will pay the price for it in one way or another. So I always try to go to bed on time and get my eight hours.

✓ Another thing that can have a big impact on our skin is STRESS. Stop doing that, and just like with a lack of sleep, I find that if I'm really stressed, my complexion can get a little dull. And kind of yellowish looking. But actually with stress, I get breakouts, and I can get irritations, especially around the area of my nose and mouth. Because this area tends to get oily. Keep every stress away for a healthy skin care habit.

~Now, stress is a little bit of a tricky subject I always find. Because most of us experience stress. Sometimes little bit, sometimes we experience more. And, it is not so easily controllable. We cannot just ignore and be done with it and not be stressed anymore. Especially if it is being caused by outside circumstances. But I do find that there are things that we can do to manage our stress better. Adapt this healthy skin care habit and voila! Welcomed your new beautiful healthy skin.

*DISCLAIMER

~ Lastly, I want to talk about something that maybe is the most important thing of all. And that is self-acceptance. I don't think that there is any such thing as perfect skin.

~ And I don't think that we need to strive for that. I think as much as we can try to take care of ourselves and have a healthy lifestyle, there are going to be moments when we're not doing such a good job.

~ Or maybe, our skin gets irritated, or breaks out or maybe you have skin issues. Those things can happen. And I don't think that we need to strive for flawless skin. Because that doesn't exist. All we can do is, just try to take care of ourselves the best way we can.

~ And, get our skin to look as good as it can look. Now, maybe you feel that this is easy for me to talk about, because I have normal skin, and I don't have many issues, and I acknowledge that. But, I also used to have quite a bit of insecurities. I have really thin skin underneath my eyes, and so I get like dark circles pretty easily. I'm still very insecure about that.

~ And, then lastly, it took me years to accept my really super pale complexion. And the fact that I just cannot get a tan no matter what I do. Whatever your skin is like, confidence is what makes us shine the most. It is corny, but very true. So do what you can to take good care of yourself and to improve your skin as much as you can and adapt these healthy skin care habit.

~ But, also, try to accept and honor the things that you can't change. The things that make you "you" and make you beautiful the way you are by adapting these healthy skincare habits.

~ Never compare yourself with any other individual. Every girl is beautiful in her own way. Each and everyone wishes to have glowing skin, but it doesn't mean you'd end up being sad or upset, love yourself the way you are. Cause girl, you are beautiful! ❤

I hope you know what skincare habits you all must follow, not only for acne, but for healthy and glowing, Crystal clear skin too.
